Video Guide: Removing Back Panel Cover to Repair LG OLED Smart TV (Model OLED55C7P)

Here’s a quick post to help those who may be looking for a video guide on how to take apart the back panel cover of an LG OLED flat screen Smart TV (model OLED55C7P-U). I think it’s a great help for electronics/TV repair beginners or those who just need a video guide to make sure they are not messing up their TV. Below is a photo of said LG TV and further down you will see the video.

Note that while this particular model obsolete, its successors should be of similar construction so the video should still be relevant and helpful to owners of the newer models.

Video Guide: How to remove back panel cover to get to the insides of an LG OLED TV

The video was put together by TipsNNTricks Youtube channel which is one of the channels I watch out for because of nice, helpful content for DIYers.

While this TV is a discontinued model, they are still of the newer OLED Smart TV types and may not be a familiar model for some (DIY) repairers. The overall profile of the screen is thinner in these types too, which is the reason it was stressed in the video that utmost care should be taken to not crack the OLED screen (Tip: Lie it face down on flat surface cushioned by something soft like a towel or something).

Power board of the LG OLED55C7P Smart OLED TV

Once open, you will notice that it’s as simple as any other big flat screend LED/LCD/Smart TV you will find in most homes. You will find the power board, T-Con and the main board/motherboard and speakers immediately upon removing the back panel cover, so you can go right straight to repairing/troubleshooting those components. Video does a great job guiding you on how to remove the components so you can perform the troubleshooting and repair.
