Plasma and LCD TV Repair: Two Training Options

If you are trying to learn electronics repair, particularly flat screen television repair which is this blog’s main subject, but are still undecided as to how you are going to go about achieving it then let me tell you flat out (no pun intended) that there are only two routes that you need to choose from. It is a fork in the road that you need to decide on before you proceed with your education in this area.

You could either learn how to repair an LCD TV or a Plasma TV through

Another advantage is, since you have other students with you, you will also be able to pick up lessons from their experiences, most particularly their mistakes. Furthermore, you will be able to build up rapport with fellows that can serve as a technical support network that can come in handy in the future when you go into electronics repair full time (or even part time).

One great disadvantage of going to an actual repair school is that you will definitely get charged high training fees. After all, you will need to pay for the salary of the expert instructors and pay for resources and facilities that you will need to use. Another disadvantage of a classroom setting is that you may not have enough time to cover all aspects of the technical aspects of electronics repair. What they usually teach you are the fundamentals and the important advanced principles but some stuff are usually left out because classroom education usually have time limitations.

On the other hand, if you are the type of person who chooses to keep his own time doing things and work at his own pace and at the convenience of his own home, then you should opt for an online plasma or LCD TV repair course. What you will need simply is a computer connected to the internet and you can be on your way to becoming an electronics repair specialist. Remember though that you will not have some of the perks that school courses have. For example, You will need to put up your own troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair tools. Likewise, you will also not have that instant feedback mechanism that I mentioned in the alternative mode of learning LCD and Plasma TV repair. Obviously this is because there is no teacher or instructor watching your every move. When you go the DIY way, you will need to be deliberate and careful with your actions so as not to injure yourself or damage your property.

The great thing about learning it all online by yourself is that this method will definitely cheaper than a classroom repair course. That is because you won’t have to pay teachers and you won’t have to pay for depreciation of the tools and equipment that you’re going to use. There are no investors (school owners) to keep happy but yourself!

The online method basically entails downloading information from the internet. That is it! Plasma and LCD TV repair manuals and books will be made available for you to download along with step-by-step guides to help you repair plasma TVs and LCD TVs. These materials will usually contain more information than what can be taught in any classroom short courses. Online courses also offer great technical support via email forums and bulletin boards.

In summary, if you are the sort of person who likes to learn through classroom interaction real live instructors or teachers then you should go for an offline classroom repair course. If you like to work at your own pace, download information, follow manuals, e-books, interact with fellow learners through online means and such, then definitely you should take the online repair course. The relative advantages and disadvantages that I provided above should help you decide on which method to choose to master the craft of electronics troubleshooting and repair.
